Traditional media is boring. Magazines are static, radio doesn’t entertain your eyeballs, and the news is... well, it’s the news. Thread is the answer to that problem. We began as a group of strangers who thought that there must be a better way to showcase our city in a young, vibrant way, so we started filming events and editing footage with our own little twists. Turns out that was just the beginning.
We soon discovered that there's a lot more happening in Saskatoon than we thought. It was impossible to keep up with everything ouselves, so we created our two main attractions: Saskatube and The Docket.
-
- Saskatube is just like it sounds: Saskatoon's YouTube. It's completely, 100% user submitted, so if you've got your own videos, shoot the YouTube links to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it and we'll put them up as soon as we can. We want to see how creative S'toon can get, so if you've got a camera and a creative edge, go out and film something and then let US show it off to the community. If you don't have a camera, let us know and we might be able to help you out. .
- The Docket is our calendar that lists all the events going on in Saskatoon. What makes it better than the other sites that list local events is that it's completely user driven (like Saskatube). So basically it's a FULL VIEW of the city's events, and if something's missing, just submit it yourself. This calendar is starting to get a schwack of views, so it's a great way to advertise any local event.
Beyond Saskatube and The Docket, Thread also produces webisode series and posts blogs from time to time. We're always open to new creative ideas, so if you've got something sweet in mind, shoot us an email and let us know. Remember, this site will live or die by local interaction; we WANT to hear from you.
Alright, that’s enough reading for now. Go watch some videos -- we’ll see you around town.
